Dr Alison Hunt, FRANZCR, ISCD

Alison trained in radiology in New Zealand and completed the RANZCR fellowship in 2000. Prior to this she spent 4 clinical postgraduate years in diverse subspecialties of orthopedics, neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, ICU, ENT, paediatrics and neonates, oncology, neurology, OBGYN, nephrology and cardiology.
She worked as a VMO in private practice in Auckland before moving to private practice in Sydney in 2002. In 2004 she worked in the UK at Princess Royal University Hospital Farnborough, before returning to Sydney to join the I-Med Network.
In 2005 Alison undertook fellowship training in musculoskeletal intervention and general MRI at the Canberra Hospital and Australian Institute of Sport.
In Melbourne she continued training in MRI at the St Vincents and Royal Melbourne hospitals and worked for the I-Med Network virtual reporting centre supporting after hours emergency radiology for hospitals in the network.
In 2006 she moved to Brisbane and worked as a staff specialist at the Royal Brisbane and Womens Hospital and part time for I-Med Network practices in Queensland.
After an extended visiting fellowship in MRI in the USA in 2008, Alison accepted fulltime commitment to the I-Med Network for the Central Coast Radiology and Nuclear Medicine practice group centered in the new flagship comprehensive facility in Erina. She lives on the Central Coast with her husband where they enjoy preserving a piece of Australian wetland for visitors and the next generation.
Dr Allan F McKenzie MBBS, FRANZCR
Specialist Skills
Allan trained at Royal Melbourne Hospital and has gained broad experience in both the public and private sectors. In 1990, Allan became Director of Radiology at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute, Melbourne before accepting the position of Clinic Director, Frankston Private Hospital, MIA Victoria.
Dr Christopher KF Wong MBBS, FRANZCR
Specialist Skills
Christopher undertook a fellowship in Paediatric Radiology at the Children’s Hospital in Michigan, USA. Over the last 10 years he has worked at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead; the last 5 years as Director of Radiology.
Christopher has been instrumental in developing the department especially with paediatric interventional radiology and the paediatric training programme for radiology registrars and fellows. He has published numerous papers and has been a guest speaker at conferences.
He is an Associate Editor (Paediatrics) for the College journal and is past President of The Australian and NZ Society for Paediatric Radiology. He is well regarded by paediatricians and is happy to assist in any queries regarding paediatric imaging.
Dr Ian Grant MBBS, FRANZCR
Specialist Skills
Ian trained at Royal Perth Hospital and St Vincent’s in Sydney. Following a short period in General Practice on the northern beaches, he entered private radiological practice in Macquarie Street and the inner suburbs of Sydney. He first worked with Pittwater Radiology in 1992 on the Central Coast and in North West Sydney, and more recently in Northern Sydney and the Peninsula.
Ian holds a Visiting Radiologist appointment at St Vincent’s Private Hospital. Past appointments include Visiting Radiologist at the Royal Australian Navy (Garden Island). Dr Grant is a general radiologist with special interest in thoracic, abdominal and breast imaging.
Dr Lesley North, MBBS, FRCR, FRANZCR, DDU
Lesley graduated in medicine at the University of Sydney and completed her residency at the Prince of Wales and Prince Henry Hospitals Sydney. She trained in radiology in London at Guys Hospital. Following this, she completed a fellowship in Oncology at the Royal Marsden Hospital London and Sutton, Surrey with further training in Ultrasound.
She was a partner in Northside Medical Imaging at Hornsby and Lindfield from 2000-2009.
Lesley has recently returned from a Sabbatical at Imperial College Trust Hospitals in London where she completed a year in dedicated Breast Imaging.
Dr Philip Herald BSc MBBS, FRANZCR
Specialist Skills
Philip trained in Radiology at St George Hospital and completed fellowship training in Nuclear Medicine and PET at Royal North Shore and St Vincents Hospitals in Sydney.
In 2008, he joined Imaging Partners Online which specialise in emergency radiology, and later that year joined Central Coast Radiology and Nuclear Medicine to manage the Kanwal clinic.
Dr Richard Lees, MBBS, FRANZCR, FRCR, ABR, FAFMM, DDU
Richard qualified in Medicine in Adelaide and completed his radiology training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Adelaide Children’s Hospital and was staff specialist at the Adelaide Children’s Hospital. Following this Richard was an Assistant Professor and Director of Ultrasound at the University of Virginia in the USA.
Richard is dual qualified in diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine and was the Director of Radiology at the Royal Hobart Hospital. Richard moved to NSW in 1983 and has worked mainly in the Hunter Valley since then.
Dr Ron Norman MBBS, FRANZCR

Ron Norman was a founding Partner of Central Coast Radiology in 1985 and remainded a Partner in the Pittwater Radiology group until 2002. Ron is a past secretary of the Central Coast Medical Association and has practised Medicine on the Central coast since spending part of his internship at Gosford District Hospital in 1979.
Ron was a Medical student at the University of Sydney and studied Radiology at the Prince of Wales and Prince Henry Hospitals. Ron has been a visiting Radiologist at many metropolitan and rural Hospitals since 1985 and has been both VMO and Staff Specialist at Concord Hospital from 1991.
Ron is a visiting specialist with Breastscreen Northern Sydney/Central Coast where he has attended since 1996.
Dr Sandeep Sharma, MBBS, FRACP
Sandeep worked in subspecialties in Internal Medicine and did a year of advanced training in Geriatrics prior to training in Nuclear Medicine and PET at St George and Liverpool Hospitals in Sydney.
After doing locums for I-Med in 2009, he joined full time as Nuclear Medicine Physician in 2010.
Dr Toos Sachinwalla MBBS (hons) FRANZCR

Following a fellowship in Body Imaging and MRI. Dr Sachinwalla commenced his career in Radiology as a Staff Specialist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, primarily in the role of MRI with exposure in Neuroradiology and Musculoskeletal imaging and also co-managing Interventional Radiology.
Dr Sachinwalla moved into private practice in South West Sydney in 1996, maintaining VMO rights at Liverpool Hospital for several years.
He established and went on to manage 2 MRI units in his practice specialising in Musculokeletal and Neuroimaging for the last twelve years. Dr Sachinwalla worked as a Staff Specialist for four years at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital primarily in MRI and Interventional Radiology. At the time he was actively involved in the college Radiology training program and was an associate lecturer with the faculty of Medicine at the University of Sydney. He spent 4 months at the Miami Vascular Institute on sabbatical evaluating Endovascular Stents.
For the last sixteen years he has worked in a private practice in Liverpool with the Raysan group. He established the MRI services there, eventually managing a 1.5 and a 3 tesla unit and primarily offering services to Musculoskeletal and Neurological specialists. He has been the managing Radiologist of the practice for the past seven years.
Dr Sachinwalla has maintained an interest in MRI based research, publishing widely in Musculoskeletal, Neuroradiology, applied Physiology and Biochemistry. MR Spectroscopy has become a special area of interest with collaborative trial established with the Human Nutrition Unit, University of Sydney, the Department of Gastroenterolgy at Westmead Hospital, the Departments of Neurology and Oncology at Liverpool Hospital.
