State-of-the-art clinic now open at Erina

DELIGHTS CENTRAL COAST PHYSICIANS AND PATIENTS

Central Coast patients and doctors will benefit from faster, more accurate diagnoses of injuries, heart disease, stroke, cancer and other health issues with the refurbishment and expansion of Erina X-Ray at 194 The Entrance Road, Erina.  The relaunch of the site will coincide with a new name for the practice – Central Coast Radiology & Nuclear Medicine – Erina – which is part of the I-MED Network, Australia’s largest diagnostic imaging group.

General Manager, Mark Schofield, said the group was excited to be able to make such advanced technology available to Central Coast residents in such well-appointed, convenient surrounds, staffed by highly qualified radiologists, technicians and staff.

“The multi-million dollar clinic boasts the latest diagnostic imaging technology – including an advanced low radiation 128 slice CT scanner and the only rebated 3T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine on the Coast, all under one roof.  Ample parking is available, all on one level with 34 car parks dedicated to the clinic”, Mr Schofield said.

“That is why we have invested in a clinic big enough to house all our services, from X-ray, CT and MRI to ultrasound, mammography, bone densitometry and interventional radiology.  This all compliments our technology offering with the latest in CT technology and 3D & 4D ultrasound technology”, he said.

The new 128 slice CT scanner will provide significantly clearer scans, faster examinations and increased comfort for patients, including less claustrophobia.  It is cutting edge technology for diagnosing problems with heart circulation but also enables more effective scanning in other body areas and conditions.

Central Coast Radiology & Nuclear Medicine – Erina Clinic Director, Dr Alison Hunt said, “CT scanning is a superior imaging technique that provides a clear insight into the tissues, arteries and veins of the body and other abnormalities to be identified, thereby allowing better planning for treatment and recovery”.

“This new CT scanner is the ultimate in CT scanning, delivering some of the fastest, most detailed 3-dimensional images of the body possible which enables early cancer diagnosis and staging as well as excellent vascular studies”, Dr Hunt said.

Central Coast Radiology & Nuclear Medicine – Erina’s official launch was on the 27th July where local GPs, specialists and allied health professionals were greeted by Dr Alison Hunt, Dr Chris Wong, Dr Toos Sachinwalla and clinic staff.

“The night was a great success.  Many of the referring doctors who attended were impressed with the investment we have made and agreed that it is an asset for the Central Coast community”, Dr Hunt said.
